Join us for an informative discussion on climate anxiety featuring Dr. Paige Baker-Braxton, Senior Director of Vail Health Behavioral Health, and Charlotte Lin, Town of Avon Sustainability Manager and former Climate Psychology Alliance North America Board Member.
Alissa Nemmers of the Vail Health Sustainability Department will open the program with an overview of the educational initiatives and community conversations that led to this discussion on climate anxiety. She will share the journey that led to this lecture through community and organizational education efforts focused on microplastics and their impacts on human and environmental health.
Charlotte will explore the emerging field of Climate Psychology, which seeks to understand the psychological responses to climate change and its impacts while fostering resilience in individuals and communities experiencing climate-related stress and anxiety.
Dr. Baker-Braxton will discuss the mental health impacts of climate-related concerns and share practical strategies for managing anxiety and building resilience in the face of environmental challenges.
The program will conclude with an interactive Q&A session, providing attendees an opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with the speakers. This event is open to anyone interested in learning more about the intersection of environmental issues and mental health.
