Vail Mountain at the Nature Discovery Center
Wednesdays - Saturdays | 10:30am-12:00pm & 1:30-3:00pm
- Ages 10 and older only. Suitable for most physical abilities.
- All visitors must have a valid ski pass or purchase from Vail Resorts a Vail Scenic Ride Ticket in order to ride the gondola. Pass fees are controlled by Vail Resorts and are not associated with Walking Mountains.
- Snowshoes are provided. Please come prepared with snow pants, warm hats, gloves, sunglasses/ski goggles, sturdy winter boots, and water.
- Groups with younger children may join a Winter Nature Walk at Walking Mountains in Avon.

The Guided Snowshoe Tour is about 1/2 - ¾ a mile of walking over the course of 90 minutes, with periods of standing at several nature stops. The trail consists of both packed and loose snow and is mostly flat but has some small hills. This hike is slightly strenuous and takes place at above 10,000 feet in elevation in variable winter conditions. Hiking poles are available. Restroom facilities are available in the Eagle’s Nest building.
